Energy change is in full swing

Now that the energy change is in full swing, we have to look for new solutions: also in installation technology.

Now that the energy change is in full swing, we have to look for new solutions: also in installation technology. ATTEMA, for example, has been supplying ordinary group cabinets for many years, but cannot perform all the measurements required for "all electrical" households. Van Hees Elektrotechniek has also risen to this challenge in the realisation of 41 new apartments in the Koolhoven district of Tilburg. They asked ATTEMA to think along with them. The result: a special Zero on the Meter (NoM) group cabinet that is fully equipped for the future and that will also save the residents a lot of money.

Solution for "fully electric" houses
"Rob Smits from Van Hees Elektrotechniek is a real visionary," says Robert Woudenberg, Sales Manager Installation & Construction at ATTEMA. "He is constantly coming up with new ideas and wishes, and now he also wanted a solution for 'all-electric' houses. Some of the current products are simply no longer adequate. Like the existing group cabinets". The intelligent NoM group cabinet offers a solution.

Meterable group cabinet
The houses in Koolhoven will have solar panels on the sides of the facades, on the roofs and on the sheds. This means that the distributor will have to measure not only the consumption of the house, but also how much electricity is generated.
"In collaboration with O-Nexus, we have found a solution to this. They have a technical 'gate' that measures everything. We put it into the distribution panel."

Remote view with app
But there are more amenities in this group locker. For example, the cabinet is connected to an app, so you can see how much electricity you are using and generating from a distance, and you can also switch on the heating remotely, so it's nice and warm after your winter sports. But more importantly, this cabinet saves residents a lot of money.

Group locker that saves money
After all, the current energy network is not yet ready for this enormous energy demand. The capacity of the grid is insufficient. The result: each new house only receives 25 amperes three times. The fixed costs for this amount to about € 250. This is not enough if you want to use several heavier appliances at the same time. If you want three times 35 amperes, the costs are about € 850,-: € 600,- extra. A considerable additional investment per year, which is unnecessary due to this NoM group frame.

Efficient use of electricity
There is indeed something special built into this intelligent group frame. Robert: "For example, dishwasher, microwave, induction hob and electric heating are all connected to a kitchen group. The residents themselves specify which appliances have priority. For example, the heating can be switched off when you start cooking. If you switch off the hobs, the heating switches on again automatically. In this way, costs remain low while you as a resident don't notice. Residents happy and energy supplier happy!

Ready for the energy turnaround
"In 2019, we applied this zero-to-the-meter enclosure on a small scale to see how they would work in practice. Last year, they were successfully installed in almost five hundred households. So we are fully prepared for the energy transition. We will continue to market these group storage cabinets in 2020.
