Installing electrical installations in radiation-resistant walls: that's quite a challenge. You must not influence the prescribed radiation protection values. Attema offers a quick and safe solution: the new radiation-resistant installation boxes. They are easy to assemble. Even afterwards. And because there is no need for additional shielding measures, you work even faster.

Radiation protection

In hospitals, dental practices and other medical institutions where X-rays are used, specific architectural measures apply. With our radiation protection installation boxes, the function of the radiation protection walls is completely retained. Without the need for special radiation protection hoods or lead seals. The boxes are available in a lead-free and a lead-containing version. In both cases, reliability and safety are fully guaranteed.

Lead-based radiation protection flush-mounted box

The lead-containing radiation protection box is mainly used in lead-lined walls, but is also suitable for lead-free walls. The radiation resistant lead is completely covered with plastic, so you will never come into contact with it. The box offers protection up to a lead equivalent of up to 2.5 mm Pb. You install the flush-mounted box very easily: also afterwards. The fact that additional shielding measures are unnecessary makes installation extra easy. And quickly.

Lead-free radiation protection flush-mounted box

The lead-free radiation protection box is an environmentally friendly alternative to shielding with lead. The radiation-resistant composite consists of, among other things, the non-toxic bismuth. The box is particularly suitable for lead-free radiation protection walls (e.g. Knauf Safeboard), but can also be used in lead-covered radiation protection walls. The box offers protection up to a lead equivalent of up to 1.5 mm Pb. Depending on the construction of the wall, a protection of up to a maximum lead equivalent of 3 mm Pb is achieved. The lead-free flush-mounted box can also be installed retrospectively without any additional shielding measures.

Test report
TÜV NORD Röntgentechnik tested the radiation protection boxes extensively in the pipe voltage range from 40 to 150 kV.  They showed that a protection of a lead equivalent of up to 3 mm Pb can be achieved, depending on the wall construction and positioning of the flush-mounted boxes.
