Moving towards a lead-free future:
AGRO helps you plan with confidence
The EU is tightening its regulations regarding lead content in brass (RoHS Directive). Having anticipated this development early on, we already offer a comprehensive assortment of future-proof alternatives such as AgreenO and our steel product range. Lead-free custom solutions are also available upon request, effective immediately.
Key information at a glance:
- Current legal status: The existing exemption 6(c) for lead in copper alloys remains valid for the time being, as a timely application to extend the exemption was submitted in December 2025. However, the EU trend is clearly moving toward lead-free materials.
- What you need to know: Once the EU sets a definitive end date, products containing more than 0.1% lead may no longer be placed on the market from that date forward. (The decisive factor will be the date the product is placed on the market, not the date of manufacture.)
- Future-proof with AGRO: Whether switching to lead-free brass with the AgreenO label or to products from our steel range, you can make the switch stress-free – without supply bottlenecks and without compromising on quality or performance.
How to prepare effectively:
- Check inventory: Identify affected items in good time.
- Plan projects with a view to the future: Use lead-free products right from the start for long-term projects.
- Build in a buffer: Allow sufficient time for administrative transitions.
Choose a solution that enables you to plan with confidence and offers proven quality while contributing to environmental protection. Take a step toward a lead-free future – with us as a strong partner at your side.
