The aim of constructional fire-protection measures is to prevent the spread of fire and smoke if a fire breaks out and to ensure that emergency and escape routes can still be used. In doing this, the focus is especially on the electrical installation, because it can have a major effect on the fireresistance of a fire protection wall or ceiling.

By using the AGRO fire protection systems, which activate automatically and maintain the fire resistance class in spite of the embedded electrical installation, the electrical trade can provide tested and certified fire protection from a single source. No more home-made encasings, filling work using fire-protection mortar or stuffing with mineral wool!

Fire protection technology. | Legal basis.

Due to federalism, fire protection legislation in Switzerland is the responsibility of the cantons. The cantons regulate fire protection in their fire protection, fire protection or fire police legislation, partly also in laws on building insurance. Due to the intercantonal agreement to dismantle technical barriers to trade (IVTH), the Swiss fire protection regulations VKF have been incorporated into cantonal legislation.

 

The cantonal fire police order structural or technical fire protection measures under given conditions. The concrete implementation and execution is the responsibility of the owner, who has been imposed the obligation. If the prescribed fire protection measures are not complied with, the owner can demand that the building be upgraded. Otherwise there is a risk of exclusions from the insurance benefits. The authorities do not have to bear the consequences of damage resulting from the failure to assume personal responsibility - the owner remains responsible.

HWD 90 cavity wall boxes for EI30–EI90 fire protection walls ensure certified and fire-safe electrical installation. The intelligent AFS technology reacts immediately to fire and heat and automatically seals the installation opening. This preserves the wall’s fire resistance class and ensures the emergency route remains secure. Suitable for use in all fire protection walls and with a fire resistance duration of up to 90 minutes, it ensures maximum flexibility – even in the event of design changes. At the same time, it also maintains the wall’s sound insulation function.

    AGRO fire protection products can be installed easily, safely and cleanly. As the fire protection products can be fitted using standard tools – without any need for filling or smoothing – installation requires minimal effort – and no training is needed!

    Cavity wall socket HWD 90 for EI30-EI90 fire protection walls. The intelligent technology reacts to fire and heat immediately and automatically closes the installation openings. This means that the fire resistance class of the fire protection wall is guaranteed and escapes routes secured.

    The VKF approval proves the reliable quality of the AGRO Quick-box® HWD 90 fire protection boxes. All boxes of type HWD 90 have the complete sound insulation function up to a sound insulation value of 78 dB.

Cable routing

  • Fire sealings.

    Feed-throughs and entries in cavities, masonry and concrete.
    ealings in fire protection walls are needed when cables or conduits must be fed through walls with a specific fire resistance class. In order to maintain the relevant rating, expert sealing of the opening is needed to prevent fire or smoke from spreading.

    AGRO solutions guarantee fast and above all absolutely safe and reliable sealing if a fire breaks out. There is no need at all for the time-consuming and messy use of fire protection putty, foam or mortar. Installation is as easy as fitting a AGRO cavity wall box.

    The cable sealing LS 90 and the conduit sealing RS 90 can easily be fitted in a few simple steps. Use a suitable cutter or drill to make the installation opening and insert the flexible sealing. For retrofitting, open the sealing and push it over the existing cable or conduit. The cable and conduits sealings can be arranged as a group.

    For fire protection ceilings F30–F90.
    The HWD 30 ceiling box for reliable fire protection ensures fire resistance ratings from F30 to F90. In the event of a fire, the integrated fire-retardant coating intumesces immediately and seals the opening in the ceiling. The HWD 30 ceiling box also ensures safety during retrofitting.

  • Fire-stop box FlamoX®.

    For luminaires and loudspeakers.
    The FlamoX® fire-protection housings form the new generation of the tried-and-tested housings for the installation of accessories such as luminaires, loudspeakers or other devices in suspended fire-protection ceilings. For this new generation of housings, the dimensions were matched to modern lighting systems, so it is ideal for universal use. Now it is possible to install LED luminaires, luminaires with compact fluorescent lamps, low-voltage and high-voltage halogen lamps, loudspeakers and other devices, including any necessary operating devices.

    The housings can easily be installed from below in fire-protection ceilings through the installation opening which is made for them.  Because of the low weight of the housings, even when luminaires or loudspeakers are fitted, the maximum permitted weight load of 5 kg/m² is not exceeded. This ensures that no additional suspension devices are needed.

    Flamox® housings correspond to fire-resistance class F30 (El30) and withstand fire loads from above and below. This means that electrical installation companies can ensure optimal building construction fire protection for fire-protection ceilings.
