The fiber distribution cabinet (FDC) is the distribution point of the optical fiber between PoP and house. Due to weather resistance it can be used for above ground distribution. It offers the possibility to carry out later splicing works without additional works in the ground. A subsequent blowing-in of branch-cables is possible.
